Corey Mason is prominently emerging from a burgeoning generation of Southern contemporary painters with his distinctive human-scaled canvases that carry the influence of his background in Landscape Architecture. His works pulse with the natural quickness and energy of his process, like a material record of the artists’ negotiations with time and memory. Impulsive motion, meditative silence, and exploration of language evoke story. His smaller works on paper show an almost unconscious clarity of an explored thought.
